Gülten Tuncel Dereboylu was born on November 11, 1991 in Nicosia. In 2009, she graduated from 19 Mayıs Türk Maarif College, with first place and completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Manchester, Genetics (BSc) department in 2013. After graduating from the secondary education field teaching program at Near East University in 2014, she went to Ankara for master's degree to continue her career in her field. In 2016, she completed her master's degree about mammary development, cancer and transcription at Middle East Technical University Faculty of Biological Sciences. In 2021, she completed her PhD education at the Near East University Molecular Medicine PhD program with the thesis title "New candidate gene for Joubert syndrome: CC2D1A". Gülten Tuncel Dereboylu is currently working as a postdoc research member at DESAM Research Institute.
