The DESAM Research Institute Molecular Medicine Diagnosis and Research Laboratory is our laboratory, which adopts the principle of meeting the increasing needs of researchers in both national and international platforms and serving public and private institutions in many fields, especially molecular biology-based R&D research, innovation, and biotechnology studies, aims to ensure progress in science, design new products, and develop production methods. Our laboratory, which aims to provide services in terms of determining the genetic etiology of the pathological condition underlying hereditary diseases, carries out research studies on rare diseases in our society. In addition, our laboratory carries out the EQA Human Genetics external quality assessment program, supported by the European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association, together with the MAGI Rare and Genetic Diseases Diagnosis Center in Italy. In the Molecular Medicine Research Laboratory, DNA and RNA isolation and analysis, DNA sequencing, variant analysis, and gene expression quantification are mainly performed to investigate the molecular etiopathogenesis of diseases. Additionally, our laboratory continues its studies in the fields of molecular identification of pathogenic microorganisms that cause infectious diseases, which are of great importance for public health, detection and expression analysis of antibiotic resistance genes in bacteria, genotyping of causative pathogens, creating DNA fingerprints and revealing the genetic proximity of isolates, especially in cases such as hospital epidemics.
