When we set out as the DESAM Research Institute Dentistry Stem Cell Research Group, our first goal was to isolate dental stem cells. In line with this goal, we are able to obtain various dental mesenchymal stem cell lines from the pulp structures of permanent teeth, and the root regions of extracted wisdom teeth, together with deciduous teeth whose time had come. We are conducting different experimental studies on the stem cells we have obtained. We can list these studies as follows:

  • Cultivation and differentiation potential of dental mesenchymal stem cells in the three-dimensional (3D) environment
  • To provide biostimulative (photobiomodulation) proliferative effects with laser applications on dental mesenchymal stem cells
  • To investigate the toxic effects of different antibiotics, which we plan to use against resistant bacteria that we encounter in severe infection cases, on the stem cells we isolated.
  • To investigate the effectiveness of exosome-antibiotic combinations by obtaining exosomal structures from the stem cells we isolated.

We have a multidisciplinary and dynamic working group on the above-mentioned subjects that we have investigated and obtained important findings.
