Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel was born in 1991, in Nicosia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In 2009, he graduated from Turkish Maarif College. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Manchester in 2013. After his undergraduate education, he completed his master's degree in Immunology at Imperial College London. For his PhD studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel headed to Ege University, Izmir, where he completed his PhD in Microbiology in 2018.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel started to work as a researcher and academician at Near East University, in 2019. In 2021, he obtained assistant professorship at Near East University. In 2022, he gained associated professorship in Near East University. In 2022, he was appointed to the board of directors of DESAM Research Institute, Near East University. In August 2023, he was appointed as the Director of DESAM Research Institute and he is still carrying out this duty. In addition, he has been a member of the TMC-TRNC Platform board since November 2022.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel, has many articles in international indexed journals and presentations at congresses and symposiums. He was awarded the Near East University Publication Awards in 2020 and 2021, the first prize for oral presentation at the 6th Erciyes Medical Genetics Congress in 2021, and the Poster award at the 7th KLIMUD National Clinical Microbiology Congress in 2023.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel is married and has a son.
