Born on September 3, 1980, in Famagusta, Cyprus. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Hacettepe University, and obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Eastern Mediterranean University.
Supported by a European Commission grant, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy during the 2010–2011 academic year. Between 2013 and 2015, he served in the Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus Chemistry Program.
He has been a faculty member at Near East University since 2015. He was appointed as the Vice Dean of the Engineering Faculty in 2018 and the Chairman of the Biomedical Engineering Department in 2022.
His main research interests include organic synthesis, photochemistry, functional dyes, dye-sensitized solar cells, biopolymers, biosensors, molecularly imprinted polymers, and affinity chromatography. In addition to his academic research, he holds a registered patent and won the first-place award at TEKNOFEST 2025 in the Agriculture Technologies (Research Project Competition) Category as a project advisor.
