Dr. Cemile Bağkur

Cemile Bağkur was born in Girne in 1991. She graduated from 19 Mayıs Turkish Maarif College in 2009 and earned her bachelor's degree in Basic and Industrial Microbiology from Ege University Faculty of Science in 2013. She completed her master's degree in Infection Biology at the University of Glasgow, School of Medicine, Veterinary and Life Sciences, in 2015.

Between 2016 and 2021, she contributed to research and laboratory work at Girne University Hospital. In 2021, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis titled "Evaluation of Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns of Klebsiella Spp. Strains Identified at Near East University Hospital between 2016 and 2019 Using Mathematical Modeling" at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Near East University.

In 2022, Dr. Cemile Bağkur commenced her role as a postdoctoral researcher at the Near East University DESAM Research Institute. Her academic interests include antibiotic resistance and mathematical modeling.
